Devil's Food Cake Milkshake Recipe

Hola Amigos! Happy Weekend! Today's recipe is just for mommies! It could be easily adapted for kids to enjoy as well by leaving one ingredient out, but at least for one moment, I wanted to make this one for moms to feel special and indulge in some decadent liquid dessert. Of course...Dad's can join in...after all chocolate does not discriminate your gender!
I did a little research about Devil's Food Cake and found out that there are a hundred of variations out there. In it's most original form, is a fluffy dark cake, made with cocoa, not chocolate and coffee! Wow isn't that wonderful? I tried to stay as close as the original as possible but couldn't help myself to make it my own by tweaking a thing here and there..here is my recipe.

Devil's Food Cake Milkshake and Shots

1 cup Rice Vanilla  Milk, frozen
1 TBSP Cocoa
2 TBSP Chocolate Instant Pudding
3 oz Coffee Ice Cream
1 shot of Kahlua

Cool Whip for garnishing
Espresso Powder for garnishing
Put the first 5 ingredients in a blender and blend of high speed until everything is smooth.
Serve and garnish with a whip cream and sprinkle some espresso powder on top.

Listo,
Now tell me this is not the richest shot of cocoa and coffee you've ever had!

It is thick and ohhhhh good...not too sweet and you can taste the coffee notes of the Kahlua mixed with the ice cream!

It's hard to have just one, but is even better if you are not greedy and share it with your significant other!

By all means you can make this kid friendly by leaving the Kahlua out!

Thank You for your visit today, I hope you enjoyed my Mommy moment and when you have your own think of my little dessert to enjoy and make your time even better!

Remember my friends, everything tastes better with a Pinch of Love!
Besitos,
Lizy

  5. Lizy, that looks so super scrumptious. Everything is also better with chocolate, preferably dark. Lizy, do you have a good recipe for macaroons? While we were out of down we had some delicious ones where we were staying; and though, I have lots of recipes, I have no idea which ones would be good. I have never even tried to make them before. Much love, Janet and kitties (especially Lisbeth)

    1. Dear Miss Blue.Sadly I do not have a recipe for macaroons but will make my mission finding a good one for you to enjoy...you know my weird relationship with my oven...lol...I tend to stay away from sweet that I have to bake...but for you I'll risk it! Thank you so much for stopping by! A big hut to you and all your lovely kitties,
      Lizy

    2. Thanks Lizy. I will now start looking through my cookbooks as well to see what I can find. It's probably better if I don't find something really yummy. The ones I had out-of-town were so addictive! Love to you from me and the kitties, Janet

  12. Hi, I couldn't locate your email address. (This looks scrumptious, by the way!) A reader who read that I couldn't use your photos told me about a snipping tool in Windows, so I'm going to try that. Maybe next time I can get one of your photos for Tweak It!

  23. This. Looks. So. Good. I love coffee ice cream and I haven't had it in nine months. This might be my first grown up treat after I'm finished nursing.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and showing me all that love--I sent it right back to you. I'd love to hear your story someday--perhaps over one or two of these. I'm going to go eat a pound of strawberries now and pretend that's what I really want. :) Have a fantastic weekend!
