Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich on Pita

Hola Amigos...How is your Spring Break going? We are heading to the movies this afternoon to watch a 3D movie and I'm hoping is good so Mr. Ants in my Shorts tots will hold still and watch it long enough...maybe the glasses will do the trick!

For Lunch and to save some money on overpriced snacks we are having a favorite of ours, Philly Cheesesteack Sandwich our way!. There are many versions out, some people swear it's not a real Cheese steak if it's not oozing Cheese Whiz while others say the original one has Provolone instead, chopped ribeye vs roast beef, melted cheese or not and even ketchup and mayo.

I understand a crunchy hoagie roll or baguette is mandatory, but my boys (including the hubs) are not big bread fans and rather  eat more meat anyway so we are substituting that for something more portable and kid friendly now that they are on the go, pita pockets.
The fixings were simple :

Now put it all together and enjoy a delicious Cheesesteak Sandwich! It might not be your typical one but your will love it! Remember, quality ingredients is always the key to a great meal.

We love this Sandwich

You could stuff it with whatever you want and make a Philly Cheesesteak Your Way!

We love it for lunch or a light supper anytime of the year but especially now for Spring!

Now we are on a way to the movies with a full tummy and hopefully no room for the Big Popcorn Bucket (sure, what are my chances of this happening, LOL)

Have a Great Day my friends and remember, everything tastes better with a Pinch of Love,
Besitos,
Lizy

  1. Oh my! This looks heavenly! And the photos - WOW! Just used up a pound of sliced mushrooms on a pasta sauce that was wonderful, but wish I'd seen this first. After cooking all day, though I'm too tired to go out and buy the pitas anyway!
