Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

My Very First Cookie
Well it was time I guess...for me to bake my first cookie...and boy, did a bake a Big One! I didn't want to risk it by baking individual ones, or fancy shaped glazed ones, pretty but way high level for this beginner, so I played it safe, went to dear ol' auntie Martha Stewart and tried her recipe, I mean...coming from Martha is gotta work right?...and It did! With of course a little tweak here and there, so this is what worked for me, not quite Martha's but it worked.
Here is the recipe for this giant Cookie!

Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

Your favorite Seasoned Skillet...mine weighs a ton! I need to pick it up with both hands!

2 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Cup packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Unsalted Butter, softened
1 Large Egg
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 Cup of Mixed Chocolate Chips, I had white, semi-sweet, sweet and a few M&M's

Heat your oven at 350 degrees. In a bowl mix dry ingredients. Set aside.
Cream the butter and sugars for about 2 minutes. Add egg and vanilla. Mix until they fully mixed.
Add flour mixture and mix until everything is combined. Add chocolate chips.

Bake for 40-45 minutes until edges are brown and cookie golden.
I baked mine for 35 minutes because I like my cookies on the soft side.

How do you like your cookies...
With Ice Cream?

With Milk?

Or you just dig in and enjoy?
It was a hit, and I have pictures to show, but out of fear for the privacy of my little one I would just tell you it was little fingers licking good!

No matter how you choose to enjoy your cookie when you make it remember to add a Pinch of Love!
Thank You for coming today to see and "virtually" taste my first baked cookie ever! Yeah!

Besitos,
Lizy

  1. This definitely beats standing around the kitchen cooking sheet after sheet of individual cookies. And by making it in a skillet, that's practically a pie, which means you HAVE to have ice cream with it. Thanks for sharing!

  2. My husband likes these quite a bit, and he likes them for his birthday(he's not a cake man). Yours came out looking good, and you're right those skillets are heavy! But I love them. :)
